We’re Focused on What Matters Right Now in St. Petersburg, FL!

At the Junior League of St. Petersburg we live in the moment. To us, that means adjusting our focus according to our community’s needs. Our work is always evolving, and that keeps us on our toes, striving for progress, and preparing to take on whatever comes next.

Our current community goal is the school success in children and youth through the areas of health, literacy, and nutrition. Within our last year calendar League year we were able to distribute 1,100 backpacks to children to start the school year with the supplies they need to succeed, distribute over 2,000 meals and 1,000 books, create a new partnership within our community with the Boys & Girls Club of the Suncoast, and much more. We are now working to continue and strengthen and work together with the Boys & Girls Club, design and implement a summer food distribution program, take our puppet show mobile, provide more books to kids, research and act on how the mental health of children is being affected during these times, and create a social media series educating our community on important issues.

Our goal is to help the women of St. Petersburg develop civic leadership skills through the work they do, then put those talents to work in the communities that need it. Our current focus of school success in children and youth through the areas of health, literacy, and nutrition gives women opportunities to grow, while positively impacting the communities where they live and work.

We’re Creating Fulfilling Leadership Opportunities Throughout St. Petersburg, FL

The Junior League of St. Petersburg offers so much more than local volunteering opportunities! Our League of leaders creates real change by advancing social activism-focused projects that directly benefit the communities of St. Petersburg. By giving women the tools to lead, educating them about their communities’ needs, and helping them put their unique brand of creativity and skill to work, the Junior League of St. Petersburg is making a big impact on our community.

We’re Transforming St. Petersburg Communities By Challenging the Status Quo

No matter what we’re currently focusing on, the Junior League of St. Petersburg’s work centers around improving our local communities through effective action and leadership. We have identified the school success of children and youth as the most pressing issue in our community right now, and we are helping local women take action to resolve it. So far this year, we have been able to provide over 3,000 meals, pivot our annual CareFair event to make it socially safe while still providing the children of St. Petersburg school supplies, purchasing hundreds of books to distribute, and taking our puppet show mobile. We believe that these impactful actions have the power to bring us closer to our goal of being able to provide the children of St. Petersburg the tools to succeed and the access they need in the areas of health, literacy, and nutrition.
